Cactus Theatre Summer

The historic Cactus Theater has enjoyed an incredible upward thrust in the past three years as new amenities to the theater have updated and enhanced the venue’s already legendary status.  Vintage-style theater carpet, extensive stone work, lobby upgrades and a concentrated effort to bring in the very best regional, national and, in fact, international talent has resulted in record crowds and routine sellouts.  

Known throughout for decades as the premier “listening room” in the region, the Cactus Theater is enjoying the kind of renaissance that is reaching new audiences and introducing Lubbock and the South Plains to talent that had scarcely been seen in the city…if ever.   Debut performances by traditional country, rock, blues, pop acts have been accentuated by the addition of eclectic genres like bluegrass, Americana, world music and world-class comedy.
