Overton Hotel, The place to stay in Lubbock
The leaves are falling, the weather is cooling down, and your Red Raiders are gearing up to take the field. Overton Hotel is a proud partner and supporter of Texas Tech Athletics as the football team aims to continue its momentum under Head Coach Joey McGuire.
The Big XII has grown to 16 Institutions with some familiar programs rejoining like the University of Colorado Buffaloes. The Buffaloes return to the conference they once called home with Deion Sanders as Head Coach. McGuire and Sanders also have some history as McGuire coached the eldest of Sanders’ sons, Deion Jr., at Cedar Hill High School. The two head coaches had high praise for each other at this year's Big XII Conference in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Located strategically across from Texas Tech University, Overton Hotel is the premier destination for out-of-town guests itching to see the Scarlet and Black grace the field this fall. Wreck ‘Em Alley is an all-encompassing game day experience.
Picture this: you book one of our rooms on the preferred level and look out your window to see the breathtaking view of campus provided by our hotel.
You take the elevator to the lobby for breakfast in the delicious Pecan Grill, our in-house full-service restaurant. On your way down you notice our new shop, Red Boot Café, where We Proudly Serve Starbucks Coffee. You order the usual before stopping by Pecan Grill. After enjoying breakfast, you hop on an elevator back to your room to prepare for game day.
A few hours pass and it's time to grab lunch before the game. Walking down to the lobby you notice it’s a little louder than typical with live music, talking, and laughter. Strolling through you see a banner reading “Wreck ‘Em Alley” and think to yourself ‘this is the best pre-game I’ve ever been a part of’. You swing by Pecan Grill again to try the game day menu, which features a plethora of options. After browsing the menu, you order a handcrafted burger and wash it down with a refreshing Red Raider Chilton. You step outside to the patio for a few games of cornhole while enjoying a cold beer from one of our on-site vendors. Time goes by and you realize it's 20 minutes until kickoff, time to make the less than a half-mile walk to Jones AT&T stadium because, at Overton Hotel & Conference Center, you’re only a few steps away from the action.
You watch the Red Raiders claim victory on their home turf and get ready to head back to your room. Walking into the Overton you notice the atmosphere is even more exciting than before. A full band has started performing and Double T 97.3 is doing their post-game breakdown of the victory. The celebration continues well into the later hours of the evening.
As you board your complimentary shuttle to the airport the following morning, you realize the memories you made this weekend at Overton Hotel will stick with you for a lifetime.
